= have a nice day! ⁓ 263A FE0E  text style ⁓ 263A FE0F  emoji style

Information

On Apple/iOS, it shows up as a white circular face with a thin black outline, soft pink cheeks, small oval eyes, and a gentle closed-mouth curve—no teeth, no eyebrows, just calm. The look is flat and front-facing with subtle shading, like a tidy report-card sticker. It reads kinder and less amped than the beaming grins, and more sincere than the slightly smirky cousins.

Functionally, it’s the classic wholesome grin that says “I’m friendly, not flirting.” Tacked onto a tense line, though, it suddenly gives off passive-aggressive customer service energy. Think of it as a polite nod from across the room: great for softening feedback, saying thanks without fanfare, or signing off with breezy good vibes. In meme-land, pairing it with a period (“Sure. ☺️”) makes it hilariously ominous—like HR just joined the group chat. It also brings a hit of nostalgia, somewhere between Harvey Ball’s vintage smiley button and an MSN Messenger throwback. Use it to reassure, acknowledge, or keep things light—or, for chaotic fun, to deliver “smiling through the awkward.”

Emoji History The emoji code/ image log of changes.

1. This emoji was part of the proprietary / non-standardized emoji set first introduced by Japanese carriers like Softbank. These emojis became part of the Apple iPhone starting in iOS 2.2 as an unlockable feature on handsets sold in English speaking countries.
2. In iOS 5 / OSX 10.7, the underlying code that the Apple OS generates for this emoji was changed.
3. The code generated for this emoji was changed slightly in iOS 7 / OSX 10.9 (a variation selector was added) advising the OS to display character emoji style instead of black and white text when available. We don't mind Apple, thank you! We just love our emojis! [Sources 11438-emoji-var.pdf 13.7 Variation Selectors (unicode.org)]
